Sold-Out Crowd At First-Ever OKC Asian Chamber Gala

More than 350 guests attended the event, which honored three members with inaugural awards.

The first-ever Greater Oklahoma City Asian Chamber of Commerce “A Night in Asia” gala gathered 360 guests into La Bella Event Center in Oklahoma City for a sold-out event.

During the evening, the OKC Asian Chamber recognized three inaugural award honorees:

  • Civic Pioneer Award: Super Cao Nguyen Market (Ba Luong, co-owner)
  • Vanguard Award: Jeff Chanchaleune of Ma Der Lao Kitchen (James Beard Award finalist)
  • Emerging Entrepreneur Award: Jenny Nguyen of Lee’s Sandwiches and Bun Box 

In addition, Scarlet Le-Cao, Greater Oklahoma City Asian Chamber of Commerce president, introduced the organization’s first executive director: Cassie Kalancha. Chef Jeff Chanchaluene, Chef Bryan Le, Chefs Vangie and Ben Vilog and Chefs Khurshid and Israt Jahan created a variety of Vietnamese, Filipino and Indian appetizers for guests before Golden Phoenix provided a four-course dinner.
